The Center for Memory of Education (CME) was created in 2001 as a scientific body of the Faculty of Education at the State University of Campinas – UNICAMP. Its purpose is to collect, promote, and make available documentary sources related to the memory of Brazilian education, in order to stimulate research related to the memories and histories of education in various areas of knowledge.
Its collection currently comprises the following archival document sets: MAURÍCIO TRAGTENBERG, FE (Faculty of Education); MALBA TAHAN (Júlio César de Mello e Souza); RBHE (Brazilian Journal of History of Education); CORREIO-ESCOLA (Cecília Pavani); and ALB (Brazilian Reading Association), emphasizing the COLE Group (Brazilian Reading Congress). The CME has been preserving this documentation, and these document sets include textual, iconographic, sound, and three-dimensional documents, whose arrangement system is being processed and organized according to archival standards and opened for consultation by appointment.
