CAPES/CNPq Scholarships

The scholarships, funded by research agencies (CAPES and CNPq) and made available by the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGE) at Unicamp, are exclusively for students enrolled in the Academic Master's and Doctoral programs at the Faculty of Education, who are ranked on the waiting list generated in the Scholarship Selection Process, which takes place regularly at the beginning of each academic year.

New students can complete the selection process after their enrollment is finalized.

This document establishes criteria for granting, maintaining, evaluating, and accumulating scholarships in the Postgraduate Programs in Education at the Faculty of Education of the State University of Campinas – UNICAMP.

Scholarship Allocation

Summary process for awarding scholarships:

Announcement – ​​PROEX/CAPES Temporary Grants

We would like to inform you that temporary scholarships granted with CAPES/PROEX funds follow the criteria below:

  • When a permanent scholarship becomes available for allocation, it will automatically be assigned to the student currently holding a temporary scholarship.

  • Any temporary scholarship that is released, if there are still installments available, will be awarded to the next student on the current waiting list.

  • This procedure will be repeated successively, according to the availability of scholarships.

The following may be admitted as scholarship recipients ( CAPES/PROEX , CNPq ):

  • All students regularly enrolled in the PPGE-Unicamp program.

    • Students without employment ties will have priority in receiving the scholarship.

    • Students with employment ties who meet the regulations will remain on the waiting list and will only be eligible to receive a scholarship after there are no more candidates without employment ties.

Citation of Support in the Final Version

CAPES: CAPES scholarship students who publish or present research-related work must use the following expressions in their submitted work (in the language of the work):

"This work was carried out with the support of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – Brazil (CAPES) – Funding Code 001" / "This study was financed in part by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – Brazil (CAPES) – Finance Code 001".

CNPq: CNPq scholarship students who publish or present research-related work must use the following expressions in their submitted work (in the language of the work):

a) if published individually:

“This work was carried out with the support of CNPq, National Council for Scientific and Technological Development – ​​Brazil”.

b) if published in co-authorship:

“CNPq Scholarship Holder – Brazil”.

Annual Renewal

RENEWAL OF CAPES AND CNPQ SCHOLARSHIPS – 2026

For the annual renewal of scholarships, it is necessary and mandatory to complete the form by December 19, 2025 , attaching the documentation listed below.

Important:

Failure to renew will result in the cancellation of the scholarship and the interruption of tuition payments.

Renewal is mandatory for ALL scholarship recipients, even those with newly awarded scholarships or those expiring in February 2026.

Mandatory documents for scholarship renewal:

1 – Supervisor's Opinion: Template available here.

2 – Updated copy of the work permit : Identification page, last entry, and the following blank page.

3 – Employment relationship:

If you are not currently employed: submit a declaration of non-employment – ​​available here.

If you have an employment relationship:

1. Submit a copy of the leave without pay, specifying the period of leave                                                    
                                                                      OU

2. Copy of the request for authorization and/or approval from CPG/FE for combining this with paid professional activity, as per article 15 of CPG/FE Resolution 01/2024:

  • Letter signed by the scholarship holder, requesting the accumulation, which must include the supervisor's “agreement” regarding the option made by the scholarship holder.
  • Supporting document, which explicitly states the number of hours worked per week.

Important: The paid work limit is up to 20 hours per week.

Scholarship Committee

The Scholarship Committee is an advisory body to the Graduate Studies Committee (CPG) and is composed of three faculty representatives associated with three different Research Lines, and student representatives appointed by the APG. The committee is chaired by the graduate studies coordinator.

The Scholarship Committee is responsible for:

  • operationalize decisions on scholarships taken by the CPG;
  • carry out the general classification of scholarship candidates, after the classification carried out by each area of ​​concentration;
  • monitor the scholarship holders’ periodic reports;
  • propose improvements to the process and other measures to the CPG.
