From March 25 to 27, Unicamp's Faculty of Education (FE) hosted the international colloquium entitled “The social function of school and the conditions for human development in times of pandemic and post-pandemic”. The event, promoted by Thought and Language Research Group (GPPL), was an integral part of the activities of the Project “The social function of the school and the conditions of human development in times of pandemic and post-pandemic”, funded by FAPESP between 2021 and 2024.
The main objective of the colloquium was to promote a working meeting of the project team, to discuss the research data with the collaboration of teachers from public education networks and collaborating researchers from other institutions in Brazil and abroad (Argentina and Mexico).
Of particular note is the presence of Dr. Juan Manuel Sanchez, professor at the National Pedagogical University of Mexico and representative of the partnership established through the International Cooperation Agreement between Unicamp and the Secretariat of Public Education of the United Mexican States. This international collaboration, which formally began in 2022, reflects the commitment of the institutions involved to promote the exchange of knowledge and academic experiences between different countries and cultures.
The event also featured the participation of the following guests: Dr. Gabriela Begonia Naranjo Flores (MEJOREDU – “National Commission for the Continuous Improvement of Education” – Government of Mexico), Dr. Silvia Liliana Dubrovsky (University of Buenos Aires), Dr. Cecília Maria Aldigueri Goulart (Fluminense Federal University), Dr. Elizabeth dos Santos Braga (University of São Paulo) and Dr. Cristina Corais (Higher Institute of Education of Rio de Janeiro). The colloquium was moderated by Prof. Dr. Ana Lucia Horta Nogueira and Prof. Dr. Ana Luiza Bustamante Smolka, both from FE/Unicamp, together with Dr. Débora Dainez (Federal University of São Carlos) and Dr. Daniela Dias dos Anjos (University of São Francisco).
