The Faculty of Education of Unicamp approved, in its 394th Ordinary Meeting of the Congregation, held on June 25, 2025, a motion of repudiation of violence against civilian populations in Palestine, especially at atrocities perpetrated by the State of Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The document reaffirms the terms of the motion unanimously approved by the University Council (Consu) of Unicamp on September 24, 2024, and joins the demonstrations of academic institutions and human rights organizations around the world that vehemently demand an end to the genocide and respect for the self-determination of the Palestinian people.
“As academic and human rights institutions around the world have done, we vehemently demand an end to the genocide,” the motion states.
The demonstration also calls on the Brazilian government to break off diplomatic and commercial relations with the State of Israel, in line with countries that demand compliance with the decisions of international organizations.
The motion was proposed by the Unicamp Committee of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and approved by the Congregation of the Faculty of Education, the unit's highest decision-making body.
