Meeting deepens studies on the LEEI 2024 Program

Training, linked to the MEC, brought together Early Childhood Education professionals in FE to deepen pedagogical practices focused on orality, reading and writing.

A meeting to deepen the Reading and Writing in Early Childhood Education Program (LEEI 2024), an initiative of the Ministry of Education (MEC), took place at the Faculty of Education of Unicamp (FE-Unicamp) on August 30. Aimed at teachers, pedagogical coordinators, pedagogues and supervisors of Early Childhood Education institutions, the target audience of the LEEI 2024 training, the proposal was to continue the studies begun in the first cycle of the program.

The central objective of the initiative was to support early childhood education institutions in analyzing educational practices with children, fostering opportunities for dialogue and reflection on practices aimed at developing children's oral, reading, and writing skills. The guiding theme of the 2024 training was "Written Language as a Social Practice," developed based on guidelines and criteria for analyzing daily school life presented by the program's instructors.

The project also aims to support pedagogical coordinators, educators, and supervisors, strengthening their role as mediators in the development of early childhood education teachers. Furthermore, it seeks to foster a permanent culture of analyzing educational proposals developed in classrooms.

With an estimated 44-hour workload, the training combines in-person meetings, remote meetings, and self-study sessions with in-school discussions. In this dynamic, participants develop readings, practical observations, and records that are published on the Avamec platform. At each new meeting, the materials are revisited and expanded by the trainers, in a process that fosters dialogue, the sharing of experiences and questions, and the continuous development of learning.

The process records include study and discussion diaries, project development, and video or audio testimonials, composing a collection of experiences gained throughout the training. The process will culminate in a final seminar, where selected reports will be presented, with an emphasis on the topic. “Organizing a satisfactory environment for children’s experiences”.

By hosting the event, FE-Unicamp demonstrates its commitment to training early childhood education professionals, in line with the Ministry of Education's initiatives, and to strengthening the dialogue between the university, schools, and communities. The initiative is expected to help enrich pedagogical practices and improve the quality of educational experiences provided to children.
