Thesis linked to a research group at FE-Unicamp is highlighted in the Laura Russo Award 2025.

Research developed within the ALLE-AULA group and linked to the Joel Martins Library has been recognized in the Academic Works category.

The 15th edition of Laura Russo AwardThe most important recognition in São Paulo's library science field, with significant national impact, brought prominence to a body of work linked to the group. ALLE-CLASS (Literacy, Reading, Writing and Teaching Work in Teacher Training), from the Faculty of Education at Unicamp (FE-Unicamp). Under the theme "University Libraries that inspire, educate, and transform"The award celebrated initiatives that strengthen the transformative role of libraries in teaching, research, outreach, and promoting democratic access to information.

Among the four categories considered — Academic Works, Professional Works, Library-Friendly Company, and Library-Friendly City — one of the highlights was the recognition in the category... Academic Works (doctoral thesis), from the research “The Joel Martins Library (BJM) and Information Literacy: Horizons for Teaching with Research”, from the BJM coordinator, Simone LucasThe work, defended on March 30th of this year in the Postgraduate Program at FE-Unicamp, was developed within the ALLE-AULA group and supervised by... Prof. Dr. Ezequiel Theodoro da Silva.

For Simone, the recognition represents a milestone in her academic journey and in the ALLE-AULA group's commitment to research that articulates theory, practice, and social impact. “I received the news with immense gratitude. This award reaffirms the importance of scientific research conducted based on the practices of our university library and the collective work that sustains ALLE-AULA,” she emphasized.

The ceremony took place on the day 14 NovemberThe event took place at the Assunção University Center in São Paulo and brought together award winners, institutions, and representatives from different segments of library science.

The author further emphasized that the study sought to propose strategies to strengthen teaching through research among Pedagogy students, using the resources and knowledge of the Joel Martins Library as a basis for the development of information literacy skills.

With this award, ALLE-AULA's work in the field of teacher training and information literacy gains new prominence, reaffirming its contribution to improving pedagogical practices and recognizing libraries as essential spaces for learning and transformation.
